Pulwama, June 07 (KNO) : One more dead body has been recovered from encounter site taking death toll of killed militants in Panjran Litter encounter to four and operation is still on in the area. Earlier three bodies were recovered and now one body has been retrieved from the site taking the death toll to four and operation is still on, A senior police official told to KNO As per official sources told to KNO that two special police officers namely shabir Ahmad from Tujan Pulwama and Salman Ahmad from Uthmula keegam Shopian who were missing from district police line Pulwama since Wednesday evening are believed to be among slain. Earlier an encounter broke out between government forces and militants in Panjren village in Litter tehsil of Pulwama district An official told KNO that encounter started after a cordon-and-search operation was launched by a joint team of Army’s 44 RR and SOG Lassipora in Panjran village of Pulwama district The cordon-and-search operation was launched after the security forces received specific inputs that some militants were hiding in the area. As forces zeroed towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter, he said. Meanwhile as a precautionary measure internet services have been snapped in Pulwama district.(KNO)
